The collection of 24 piano pieces entitled ‘Lifecycle’ contains one piece in each of the 24 keys and the concert version of ‘Walking in the Air’ (originally from the animated film ‘The Snowman’) made by the composer to fill this key-role in this ‘Lifecycle’ context is written in C sharp minor. However, if played as a separate piece, Howard has tended to play it in its original key of D minor and to give it its premiere (outside of the contact of ‘Lifecycle’) Highbridge Music decided to edit and publish this D minor version as a single, separate work with the opus number of 609.
